Best of Jackson Hole Wildlife Safari Tour

Overview

Thousands of mule deer, elk, moose, big horn sheep and bison migrate into the valley in search of food each year along with coyotes, fox, bald and golden eagles, swans, and even packs of wolves. This gathering of wintering wildlife makes winter one of the best times to view wildlife in Jackson Hole!

After a full morning in the field we will enjoy lunch together at a local eatery before heading back out for the afternoon. When available, we will take a horse drawn sleigh through the National Elk Refuge into the middle of the largest wild elk herd in North America. Following the sleigh ride, we will head back into the field to spot more wildlife.

The minimum age for wildlife safaris is 8 years old. (Private safaris have no age minimum.)
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all single day wildlife safaris. Cancellations made before the cancellation policy goes into effect will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of departure, and before the day of departure will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations or no-shows on the day of departure will not be refunded. We strongly recommend travel insurance in order to protect you from unforeseen travel interruptions that prevent you from joining us.

Your wildlife safari may stop here. Your guide will educate you on the historical or geological significance of your stop. All stops are dependent on the road conditions, weather conditions and needs or interests of each group.

We did a full day wildlife tour with Mackenzie and had a great time. This was my 3rd trip with Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris and it didn't disappoint. We got to see all kinds of animals and got great pictures through the scope. Lunch at Dornan's was amazing and even though I feared the sleigh ride might be a bit cheesy it was great to see the elk up close. It was a great day!

We spent a full day with a wonderful naturalist. Her skills allowed us to see many different animals and to watch their lives playing out before our eyes. We were glad that we had chosen this experience and agree that it was a big highlight of our time in Jackson Hole. Learning the history of Jackson, Jackson Hole and the animals that roam there, returning every year. We appreciate the chance to be immersed in the area and have lots of fun as well.

Great experience , the only regret was we did not find a fox and all the bisons were hiding we only saw two from far far away.
