Best of Jackson Hole Wildlife Safari Tour

Overview
Thousands of mule deer, elk, moose, big horn sheep and bison migrate into the valley in search of food each year along with coyotes, fox, bald and golden eagles, swans, and even packs of wolves. This gathering of wintering wildlife makes winter one of the best times to view wildlife in Jackson Hole!

After a full morning in the field we will enjoy lunch together at a local eatery before heading back out for the afternoon. When available, we will take a horse drawn sleigh through the National Elk Refuge into the middle of the largest wild elk herd in North America. Following the sleigh ride, we will head back into the field to spot more wildlife.

**Sleigh rides are optional.

Although we did not sign up for a private tour, we got one! We had our highly experienced guide Dave all to ourselves for a full day of wildlife viewing. Dave took us to some perfect spots and we were rewarded with some amazing views as well as plenty of elk, bison, big-horned sheep and beautiful sharp-tailed grouse, as well as a coyote, some shy mule deer and even MOOSE! What a thrill. Finished the day with a horse-drawn sleigh ride at the National Elk Refuge and enjoyed some close encounters with the draft horses, the elk herd, and a very photogenic bald eagle. Fantastic tour.

My husband and I recently had the good fortune to spend a day with Jodi from Jackson Hole Wildlife Safari. We had a spectacular day! First and foremost, Jodi was a wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable guide, a terrific guy with whom to pass the day. We had great luck spotting all kinds of wildlife in the Gros Ventre...coyote, moose, elk, bison, big horn sheep and wolves. We were very lucky with a beautiful blue bird sky, so Jodi made sure to take us to great spots to photograph the Tetons. We had a delicious lunch at the National Museum of Wildlife Art where we saw some amazing paintings and sculptures. We also went out on the National Elk Refuge where we got great shots of the bull elks. We hope to return someday and have Jodi help us find some grizzly bears!! Thanks Jodi! You are awesome at what you do and we are very lucky to have spent our time with you in Jackson Hole.

My wife and I really enjoyed our day with Jody, our guide. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and adventurous - taking us to where he knew we could spot various wildlife and then taking some opportunistic off-road trips when he heard from other guides about sightings in other places. He was a great conversationalist/teacher, but also a great photographer - helping us with his binoculars to take great zoom-ins with our I-phones. Everything was first class and comfortable, even in the cold weather. We would do it all over again!
