We took the Hop-on Hop-Off Tour our last day in Chicago as filler, before our flight out. The ticket seller was great, very friendly and helpful, the first tour guide was friendly, but only seemed intent on pointing out restaurants and very few points of interest, so all I thought was how much do the restaurants pay to get these plugs? Our second guide on the other hand, name of Austin, was great! He was very informative and entertaining, pointed out the sites and had interesting anecdotes. He answered questions and if he didn’t know the answer, he didn’t try to fake it. We had walked miles the previous two days, so this was just a nice easy way to review the sites and kill a little time. It would make sense to do this first instead of last as it does give you a nice overview of the loop, the museum district, Millennium Park and Navy Pier.

What a wonderful time we had on the Big Bus in Chicago. The tour guide Mrs B was such a character and made Chicago amazing. Enjoyed the detailed information and well as her tips on the various beaches to go to, restaurants to eat the deep pan pizza, hot dogs, the Walgreen pharmacy that has everything from a winery, to sushi to a salad bar, etc. This is a must attraction, especially if you are limited with your time in Chicago.

We bought tickets at stop 11, from a very helpful and friendly young lady. Once onboard the guide was very disappointing, her main topic was favourite fast food bars, how cold she was feeling and very little city knowledge. Thankfully at stop 1 we had to change buses as it was her lunch break. From then on we had a most interesting and informative make guide who was fantastic at his job, and made the tour s pleasure to be on. We learnt a lot from him.

PamV211 Thank you for your review. Based on the information of your review, we can only guess that you got on near the Restaurant District of the tour. It is focused on food and drink. We pride ourselves on the knowledge our guides have, especially about restaurants and food. We agree, their knowledge should include more than a list of places; include some history and why it's important! We'll make sure to use this a learning experience for our Tour Guides.
