Overview

Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War. We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history. From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

What To Expect

Salem Black Cat Tours

Your guide will meet you at the Axelrod Walkway park at 28 Charter Street, next to the Peabody Essex Museum, located across the street from the Witchcraft Trials Memorial and Old Burying Point Cemetery Welcome Center.

Dan was our tour guide last night and he was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Salem. I was absolutely freezing because of the weather, but I still didn't want to leave when it was over. My group didn't ask very many questions and we weren't very talkative, but that didn't damper Dan's enthusiasm when telling us about the history of Salem witches, ghosts, and vampires. I would definitely go again

We called to book a tour at extremely short notice. i had some friends in from Canada who wanted to experience Salem and Lara and Dan were able to get us into a tour at only a few hours notice during halloween week. Lara was our tour guide. She and Dan both have extremely positive and uplifting attitudes and a wealth of local knowledge and lore. Lara took us on the tour and was able to walk us through the history, legends, and lore of old Salem. Their relationships with other tours and entertainers in the area made for a smooth transition through the congested streets. They were extremely safety concious about traffic and hazards, gave us the opportunity to ask questions and truly enjoy the experience. I recommend this to anyone in the area! Henry Giasson
