Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

This is the best of the 3 Salem tours I have taken over the last few years. Daniel was excellent, extremely knowledgeable and funny to boot (not at all corny like many ghost tours tend to be). The only thing I can say that is even remotely negative is that the website cited the tour as being 1-1.5 hours. In reality it was about two hours and ten minutes. This disparity was for no reason other than the guide’s overabundance of knowledge though. I guess if you were planning to be somewhere else that evening you would need to miss the end, but I preferred it longer since the tour itself was so intriguing.

Had an amazing time on the history tour. Dan was funny, engaging and knowledgeable! He even taught me a few things I didn't know and I've been going to Salem for years!

This tour was the highlight of our day in Salem. I loved all of the historical information, and Daniel is a great storyteller -- he made it all really come to life. And the ghostly bits definitely sent shivers down my spine. He also has an amazing depth of knowledge about Salem, and could answer all of our questions. Can't wait to come back and do the daytime historical tour!
