Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

This tour is very informational, how ever if your looking for scary it's not. The tour gives you some much information about Salem some of the houses. Jeff our tour guild was very engaging I had my 12 year old granddaughter with us and he included her and others in the door so no one really felt left out. He talked to the group as if he was telling you about his "family" not just ramble off history. I eS here last year took a different tour and wasn't sure I would learn more on this tour. However this tour went a different way and I learned even more and now have more spots I want to visit. What I like about the tours in this town. They don't compete against each other. If a tour is in one spot the other holds back, they are friendly to each other. And while we were starting our tour a couple missed their tour and didn't know how to find them. Our guild actually told them how to catch up with their tour. I would recommend booking a tour your first night and then you will have many places you want to go see after.

This was our first ghost tour and I had my 10 year old son and 5 year old daughter with me. My daughter had been bugging me to do a ghost tour since we went to Gettysburg and I finally gave in. I was worried it might be too frightening for my 5 year old (who is very brave) but Jeff was our guide and did an amazing job. He was very lively, knowledgeable and had a genuine interest being our guide. He was kind enough at the end of our tour to answer a lot of questions from myself and son. We were lucky enough that my son is confident he saw an image of a man at Captain White's house on the second floor. At the conclusion of our tour, a bunny ran directly at us with plenty of space to avoid us..... it was cool. May have been a familiar. Thank you Jeff for sharing stories along the tour and also giving us bonus information and tips where to go in Salem. We highly recommend this tour!!!
