Overview

Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War. We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history. From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

What To Expect

Salem Black Cat Tours

Your guide will meet you at the Axelrod Walkway park at 28 Charter Street, next to the Peabody Essex Museum, located across the street from the Witchcraft Trials Memorial and Old Burying Point Cemetery Welcome Center.

This was my first time to Salem and my first time learning about the history of the town. Dan was our guide and he did not disappoint! He dressed the part, is a wealth of knowledge and has a knack for storytelling. I also appreciated his sense of humor. (It was often subtle, which made it even funnier). He ensured our safety on the busy streets as we navigated our way through the town. It was a busy night in Salem but I thought the ghost tour went above and beyond my expectations. Highly recommended. Thank you for a great experience!

So we arrived on a rainy day and I saw a couple other guide tours in town and to be honest they looked boring. I was really hoping our tour wasn’t. But as soon as we saw out guide tour I knew it was so going to be interesting. We have Olivia and Duag they were so into it that they get into character which I loved! The whole tour was awesome!
