Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

My boyfriend and I are a bit of ghost tour addicts, and this was our 6th tour in the past year. Overall, it was a pretty good tour that combined Salem's history with spooky stories. The initial meeting spot was a bit hard to find, but it was also Salem in October, so there were tons of groups and people to navigate through. Our tour guide, Danny, was informative and clearly very into the stories he was telling. I would recommend this tour to visitors to Salem who like a good, creepy time. Make sure you wear your walking shoes -- the tour lasts about 2 hours, and there aren't a lot of opportunities to sit!

My friend and I decided to join a Ghostly Night tour in Salem last week and had a blast. Our guide, Daniel, was super knowledgeable and you could tell really enjoyed talking about the history and lore around popular Salem sites. And he has a voice made for voice overs. The tour was informative without being overly scary, and now everyone I know knows where they hide Blackbeard's skull. Would be interested in trying one of their other tours when friends come to visit!

I had an AMAZING time on my night tour with Kristin. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, and she even gave me a birthday shout-out! As an cat mom of two black cats, I appreciate that Black Cat Tours donates a part of its proceeds each year to black cat shelters. 10/10 would recommend Black Cat Tours!
