Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

We are a family of three...our daughter is 12 years old. We decided to do this tour during the day however we booked it for 2pm but in hindsight would have done it sooner in the day as our feet were extremely tired from walking so much during the day already. Daniel was our tour guide and because we went during peak season, our group was fairly large....about 30 of us. Daniel was very familiar with the town and all the details. He made sure everyone could hear him even though so much was going on all around us. This tour was slightly over 1-1/2 hours long and my 12 year old was getting antsy by the end. This tour focused on the historical facts of the town. We stopped at the witch trials memorial, a couple old houses in Salem where Daniel told us all about their history, the old town hall, the old police station and several other stops along the way where we got to hear interesting facts that you wouldn't have known otherwise. I would definitely book this tour again.

My family and I were in Salem this past weekend for the first time and had a great experience. After doing some research we decided to go on the ghostly night tour with Salem black cat tours and it did not disappoint. Dan was our tour guide and he was awesome. He was extremely knowledge and enthusiastic about all of Salem’s history. He was also able to throw in some fun haunted details which added to the experience. We were also able to catch some ghostly figures on camera at the meeting spot (axelrod walkway). In the photo you see a blurry shape with multiple faces throughout the image. I highly recommend this tour!

This was our second tour. The guide was very animated and very knowledgeable about the history and threw in a little ghostly.
