Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

I took both the night tour as well as the day tour. Both were entertaining, informative, and fun. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and more then willing to answer any questions that you may have. I also liked that you could ask questions about places even if they weren't on the tour. The tour did not feel rushed so we were able to enjoy each stop and take photographs as we liked.

I have nothing to compare it to, but it took us to key points of interest said to have haunted activity. The guide was informative and it was a good time. The tour ended at the witches memorial. It runs about 1.5 hours. Pictures are encouraged as you can often catch apparitions on a basic smart phone. Check out he pic I took with the 2 windows - see window on the right. I overexposed the image after the tour. When I took it everything was just black and dark. Def make the effort to go during October as hey have their annual festivities and the city is alive and fully animated!

We chose Black Cat Tours and I'm glad we did. John was our guide and he was great. Lots of history and fun facts included in his commentary. John was interactive and great about answering everyone's questions. We never felt rushed. Highly recommend.
