Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

This tour is a history-ghost tour. The info given about the sites has the story behind the 'haunting' and it is presented in a comical/interesting way. It was easy to tell that my guide took pride in his business and wasn't there just for the money aspect.

My partner and I went on a few different tours - all wonderful - and did this one last. I have to say, Daniel knows everything!! He basically filled in all the blanks from the other events we went to. The others were bullet points, but the daytime Black Cat Tour was all in the details. Daniel is so pleasant and always smiling! And, I don't care if it's irrelevant, his ponytail and blue eyes add to the charm. Lol. Also, the staff easily moved my booking to another date after I sprained my ankle! They're very reachable. P.s. This was the only tour, that I experienced, that added some pirate history.

My in-laws and I took a tour on Saturday and had an amazing time. They aren't from the area and, even though I'm from Boston, I never took a tour, so none of us knew what to expect. We had Kristin and she was awesome. Very engaging and knowledgeable, and we learned a ton about Salem, and not just about the witch trials. The guides are all very passionate about the history of Salem and do a great job on the tours. I will definitely go back and do another tour with Black Cat.
