Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

We have been to Salem about ten times and have done just about every tour possible. Daniel was our guide and he was excellent. He spent two hours with our group and told stories I had never heard before. I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone. Ask for Daniel to be your guide!!

Kristin the tour guide was very informative of the city, people, captains, pirates and history. I learned a lot of the Salem Witch Trials that I did not know prior to the tour. Tour was about 2 hours long. I had no CLUE, clue was started here.

Even as a non-American History fan, I enjoyed this afternoon tour of Salem. We were planning last minute, and so we primarily chose by which company still had availability. It started drizzling about half-way through the tour, but our guide was a trooper and carried on. As other posters have mentioned, there are several tours picking up in the same general vicinity, so make sure you get picked up by the right one!. The pickup location is around the corner from the Peabody Essex museum - there's a map on the website, but directions in the email would be a helpful addition!

Thank you very much for your review! We would like to address your request about our meeting location. Since the confirmation email is sent from PayPal and not through us, we unfortunately do not have the capability to alter its contents to include the map. We have been trying for some time to no avail. We hope to move to a service that offers this option in the future to avoid any confusion! Thank you again, we are so glad that you chose our tour and had a good time with us!
