Black Cat Historical Day Tour

Overview
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

We recently visited Mass. from Kentucky. We had booked this tour in advance, and were pleasantly surprised to find that our group were the only people on the tour! I have been on several ghost and historical tours in the past, and I must say that this far surpassed those in quality and quantity of information. Our tour guide, Daniel, did a phenomenal job presenting the information. He knew so much about the history of the area, and his quirky and upbeat attitude made the tour an absolute blast. He was extremely nice and personable, and catered the tour to our interests "on the fly." I didn't feel like I couldn't ask questions or engage him in conversation as we walked. It was one of the highlights of our entire New England trip. I would definitely take another tour with Black Cat again.

My BF and I did the evening tour with Black Cat and we enjoyed it immensely. A smaller group than many of the large tours meant more intimacy and everyone got the opportunity to ask questions. The tour guide clearly knew his stuff and I felt the tour had the perfect balance of history and ghost tales, as he explaioned to us teh history behind each tale and had many interesting things to say. Would definitely recommend!

We recently visited Salem and didn't know any of its history so we went on a tour with Black Cat tours. It was money well spent as the tour was very informative and Lara our guide was a very friendly and knowledgable person who really brought the history to life.
