Brooklyn Food Tour: The Flavors of Williamsburg

Overview
This walking food tour is a window into what makes this neighborhood so special. You'll experience the historic roots of the area at Northside Bakery which specializes in authentic Polish pierogies and desserts. From there, you'll visit the "Best Pizza" shop in town, and have a sit down food and drink stop at Tacombi. The tour ends with a dessert stop, a functioning chocolate factory! Between food stops, your expert guide will show you the sights of the area, including breathtaking waterfront views of the Manhattan Skyline, and narrate the history of one of New York's most colorful neighborhoods.

I guess you get what you pay for. Even if I walked around and got an appetizer at 5-6 different places in the area, I would have gotten a better deal than this tour. TBH I expected just a little bit more than what we got. Started with half of an everything bagel, a tasting at a BBQ spot (which was great and more along the lines of what I wanted to experience), a pizza spot and the next 3 places were tastings from sweet shops...WTH? Who eats that much sweets for lunch? No one in my group wanted sweets. And yet here we are, visiting 3 sweet shops. The Milk Bar was the best by far, but cookies from Martha's and some chocolate shop that gave us a few chocolate chips (yes, tiny chips that one would use to melt when baking). Those are cheap cop outs, I would have preferred one more restaurant. The best part of the tour were the other people we met on it.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. I am saddened to read that you did not enjoy the tour. I reached out to you in the hopes that we could resolve this but I didn't hear back. We are a small business so customer satisfaction is very very important to us. Because of that, we are very clear to list all of the foods you will taste on the tour and we do include 3 savory tastings (BBQ sampler with cornbread, two half slices of pizza and pierogis -- and now we also include corn esquites) and 3 sweet. The restaurants are all hand picked, local favorites. The food cost makes up the majority of the tour price so I apologize that you didn't feel it was enough food for lunch.

We’re from the NY metro area and had my mother in law in town for the holidays. We introduced her to Brooklyn with this phenomenal tour! Our tour guide Walter was very knowledgeable of the area. There was a vast array of food (even veg options). You will not leave hungry! Would definitely recommend. Walter was great!!

We’ve visited NYC many times but never made it to Brooklyn until this trip. We booked a food tour. WALTER, our guide, was great. Very informative, very friendly. The tastings he arranged were all excellent—especially the thin crust pizza. We would definitely recommend both Walter and this tour.
