It's become an annual tradition of ours to go to dinner on Las Olas and then take the Carrie B evening cruise of the intracoastal just before Christmas. They cruise past all the beautiful mansions, lit up with their holiday displays. It's about a 2 hour cruise and costs around $20. Well worth it. The only complaint I have is that they allow cigar smoking on the upper (outside) level of the boat, which is where everyone sits for the best views. I think that smokers should have to stay at the back of the boat, not the front, so the rest of us aren't choking on the smell, especially with the cigars. I asked the captain to ask the cigar smokers to move to the back of the boat, and his reply was, "Hey - it's outdoors and they can smoke if they want to". The majority of our cruises have been smoke free, but when they are smoking cigars and you're downwind, it's pretty disgusting.

Great cruise of the canals and the "rich and famous". Staff was excellent, food/drink/facilities on board. Only and hour and 1/2, which is perfect. You can walk around and most of the seating is shaded. Very fun thing to do with the family.

While in the area for a week, we debated about whether to take one of the various sight-seeing cruises and after exhausting our list of must dos, and reading the various reviews, we chose Carrie B. I would now recommend that you put it high on your list of things to do when in the Ft. Lauderdale area. It's a reasonaly priced, relaxing, 90 minute trip with up close viewing of beautiful homes and yachts along Ft. Lauderdale's Millionaires Row. Our captain, John, was very entertaining and provided a nonstop narrative of the history and stories behind the area, yachts, and homes. Everyone on the staff was genuinely pleasant, not just putting on an act for passengers. I have to give kudos to the man in charge of tickets (sorry, I forget his name). Our car's GPS got us horribly lost and unable to make it for our 11:00 ticketed time. I called the number on our ticket and Ticket Man was so nice; directing us as we drove, and telling us not to worry that he would just put us on the 1:00 cruise and when we got there to come to where he was and he would give us a free parking pass. He pleasantly did just as he said and we were able to park right by the dock within steps of the ramp to board the boat. I will take this cruise again if I ever return to the area and highly recommend it for everyone.
