Despite their website stating "rain or shine" Carrie B crew stayed home. Went down to ride the Carrie B one rainy Thursday afternoon. Waited at the dock with two other couples. No sign telling us there was no cruise that day. Finally, called their booking agent, Zerve, who told us they weren't going out until the next day. Glad we didn't buy advance tickets from our concierge.

Hello, Jasonofnati. I believe the Thursday in question was 7 July 2011. I want to offer my most sincere apologies to you for not being able to enjoy a nice cruise in the warm Florida sunshine. True, we do run cruises rain or shine, however we were under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for most of the day. As an operator of a U.S. Coast Guard inspected Passenger Vessel, the safety of all our guests is of paramount importance to me and my crew. When we are under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, we issue a "Do Not Sail" order. Since the weather was absolutely dreadful the entire day, we had no passengers and no walk ups for our 11am trip. We had no passengers and no walk ups for our 1pm trip. Since we are a business, we did cut our losses and sent our operations crew home at 1:15pm (restaurants and bars cut staff also). The owner and a member of our maintenance staff stayed on the boat until 5:00pm. It's a shame that you simply didn't knock on the window or on the side of the boat, the owner would have come outside and issued some passes if you decided to return on a day with decent weather. It's also a shame that you didn't book with your concierge, as they always confirm availability before selling tickets. We hope that despite the horrible weather, that you still enjoyed your day in Fort Lauderdale. The weather is usually nicer.

Our family of four (2 adults, kids aged 12 and 14) thoroughly enjoyed this 90 minute boat cruise. We boarded about a half hour early and each had a drink and snack at the on board bar. The bar prices were quite reasonable. The boat was clean and had an enclosed air conditioned lower deck, an open canopy covered upper deck, and washrooms. On the afternoon of our cruise, there was a nice breeze and most people sat topside. The running commentary from the bridge was very informative. The captain's knowledge of local mansions and ships was quite extensive and made for an interesting trip. They take each party's picture upon boarding which then then sell in a picture and keychain combo at the end of the cruise for $10. Overall, I thought this cruise represented good value for the money. I'd recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it.
