Comb Jelly Bioluminescence Kayak Tour

Overview
In the cooler Florida months, bioluminescent Comb Jellies congregate in the protected waters of the Indian River Lagoon. Living in the most bio-diverse estuary in North America, Comb Jellies are clear, glob-like creatures that, despite their name, do not sting! So as you paddle the calm waters laced with mangroves and palm trees, you can catch and hold these gentle glowing creatures. They're right at your fingertips while having a safe, awe-inspiring kayak adventure with those who share your enthusiasm for new and unique experiences.

In addition to the stars, the myriad of protected wildlife around you, and the Comb Jelly’s bioluminescence, their “ribs” are lined with cilia that they use to propel themselves, so when you cast a flashlight on them just right, they’ll also refract a dynamic rainbow-y light show! They’re right at your fingertips while having a safe, awe-inspiring kayak adventure with those who share your enthusiasm for unique experiences.

We had a cool and windy night, but it was still great. Our guide took us along the edges as much as possible and into back lagoons..great adventure.

This was an awesome night time kayak tour to see bioluminescent comb jellyfish!!! Our guide JOE was utterly FANTASTIC on many levels!!!!! Let me explain: The date for our trip got mixed up. We scheduled & showed up for this past Wed night yet the trip was was (somehow) confirmed for the following Wed. (ugh) HOWEVER, when we contacted the company -- to our amazement -- the representative attemped AND SUCCEEDED in getting us a guide at that last minute. Joe agreed to be our guide!!!! Hurrah for Joe! He was not annoyed but rather he was kind, knowledgable, fun and a super person! A HUGE THANK YOU for A DAY AWAY and Joe -- our guide --for helping to make our last night of our Florida trip a wonderful one! We want to go again!!!!!

We took the Mondo Combo tour. Bob was our guide. He was super knowledgeable about the area and very professional and also very fun. The sunset was beautiful and we saw lots of Horseshoe Crabs and birds. The bioluminescent comb jellies were AMAZING! We saw fantastic stars and constellations and the Milky Way. I would do this trip again.
