Overview

Your Deluxe Manatee Swim Tour provides a unique opportunity to view Florida's Nature Coast. CRWS is a proud member of the Save the Manatee Club Guardian Guide Program - promoting passive observation and responsible eco tourism. Your tour will take you past a state Archaeological Park, a State Nature Preserve and to a National Wildlife Refuge. You may view up to 57 varieties of birds, river otters, deer, pigs dolphins, a variety of fish and turtles besides the opportunity to swim in the area of the gentle giants manatees.

I had so much fun!!! Our captain, Robert, and guide, Wendy, were great! We were able to see lots of wildlife along the boat ride and they pointed out and gave history of the surrounding area which was an added bonus! In total we saw three manatees which wasn't a lot but we did go towards warm season. Even though we only saw three it was a blast to just swim in the water and see other wildlife including lots of different fish swimming below you!!! I would absolutely do this again!

Thank you so much for you wonderful review! I appreciate you pointing out that a manatee tour with Crystal River Watersports is a full eco-tour. In addition to seeing/snorkeling with our beloved gentle giants, the manatees- you see/experience a lot more. Our location, about 4 miles by boat from Kings Bay, gives our guests the chance to see the beauty of the area, and the possibility of seeing a wide variety of birds, animals (otters, wild pigs, deer, raccoons), dolphins and other things on their cruise down the rivers. Passing the Crystal River Archaeological Park means that those people interested in Florida history can see and hear about the mounds and history of the area. Each captain and guide bring a wealth of knowledge to a tour. We would love to see you again if you visit our area. Each tour is different! We came at the tail end of the season (and it was hot!) so didn’t get the big crowds of manatees, but we had a fantastic time and got to see and swim with a mom/baby and another couple manatees in multiple locations. We did a private boat, which I highly recommend because it seems like a great deal - and Jim and Dakota were able to take us to some out of the way spots (away from the very large touristy boatloads of folks!). I think everyone was jealous because the boats that went by us kept asking Jim where to find the manatees (clearly, he and Dakota were the experts!) Wonderful experience, and the boat ride itself was gorgeous and let us see a whole different part of Florida. Our guides pointed out bald eagles, osprey nests with babies, turtles, and we swam at the spring with some very large fish too! Thanks for a great day.

Excellent trip, got up close and personal with the local manatees, Dakota made sure everyone got a close look. This outfit have an attention to detail. My wife who does not normally snorkel loved it.

We so appreciate our guests being conscious of keeping our manatees safe with passive observation, and for understanding that the best way to have a great tour is to let the manatees choose. When our guests are quiet and calm in the water, the manatees feel safe enough to come close. It makes for the best experience for both the manatees and the people on the tour.
