The guide is very nice and informative for our 2 pm walking tour in Asheville. I rated the tour a 3 because of two reasons. We went to Asheville for the first time and didn't expect to find the large number of breweries. There is practically a brewery on every other corner. A self guided walking tour would have been better for us. And, $50. per person is too much for a walking tour with nothing special to demand the price. The guide is an expert/consultant for brewing and restaurant service without question. If you are really interested in that stuff, then by all means you should take this tour. If you are like us and enjoy tasting beer and investigating the local brewery scene and atmosphere, then maybe you should make another choice.

I am so sorry to hear that our tour wasn't what you were looking for on your trip to Asheville. We are very fortunate to have many breweries in close proximity to one another, making the walking tour you took possible. Without that proximity, we wouldn't be able to offer the tours we do. And of course walking from brewery to brewery and having a pint of beer is always an option for visitors to our city. If you had gone alone and purchased the flights of beers we had each of the breweries on your tour, those flights would have cost between $8-$10 each. If you tipped 20% at each stop, you would have spent somewhere around $32-$35 on beer. Those who sign up for a BREW-ed tour are typically looking for something more. They want the type of information you found, and I thank you for the kind words in regard to that. They are interested in a behind the scenes look at the brewing process, a recognized expert selecting beers while helping participants learn to describe their flavors, along with history of the breweries and Asheville as a whole. That is where the value is typically found by those who choose to take one of our tours, as you can't get any of that while barhopping. And BREW-ed provides all of that for only $15 when compared with going it alone. And I agree with you that if you are not interested in that, our tours are not a great fit. Next time you're in Asheville, let me know. I'd be happy to recommend some breweries for you to check out while you're here, and again my apologies that our product wasn't what you were looking for this time.

Our guide, Cliff, was funny and informative. We tasted beers from two local breweries and toured the brewhouses. We learned about brewing ingredients and brewing process. Also learned a little about the history of Asheville, known as the "Paris of the South." Very pleased that he gave us some tips on how to fully enjoy the flavors and aromas of beer. Recommended for those new to craft beer, and for experienced homebrewers too! Would give this tour six stars if that was an option.

Very knowledgable guide and great beer. 2 breweries and plenty of drinks for the price. Learned a lot about the brewing process and downtown Asheville.
