What To Expect
1
Exit Glacier
This is where your Glacier Hiking Adventure takes place. The hike up the mountain is approximately 1.5 miles, with 1,500 feet of elevation gain - this is the most physically exerting part of the trip. This is the part of the trip that requires the overall rating to be Strenuous. 8-Hour Tour: The 8-hour tour departs at 8:00am and returns at 4:00pm. The whole tour will last about 8 hours in total, with the possibility of spending upwards of 2 to 4 hours on the ice! The "ice-time" all depends on how long the hike up the mountains takes as a group. We do not rush any part of this trip, and the group will move together at a comfortable pace. *The 8-hr tour offers a more relaxed/flexible pace with more rest breaks, if needed.

Kenai Fjords National Park
At the edge of the Kenai Peninsula lies a land where the ice age lingers. Nearly 40 glaciers flow from the Harding Icefield, Kenai Fjords’ crowning feature. Wildlife thrives in icy waters and lush forests around this vast expanse of ice. Native Alutiiq relied on these resources to nurture a life entwined with the sea.

We are not experienced hikers but under the capable guidance of Todd we felt we could take on the world. Commencing with our prompt and easy pick up from the cruise terminal to the very good lunch Todd lovingly prepared and carried for us, and our return to Seward it was a day we will never forget. Probably for us the Exit Glacier is a once in a lifetime experience. Todd clearly explained the course of the day as it unfolded including a safety drill in the event we were approached by a bear and her cubs. He also discreetly assisted those of us that did not feel overly confident with unsteady surfaces and steep inclines. Since undertaking this adventure my husband and I feel we want to try similar hiking adventures in the future. Thank you Todd fo an amazing day.

Todd and Katie were absolutely superb. Just perfect. This is a moderately strenuous hike, which could be very dangerous if not for the very capable hands in which we were placed. There's a 3-4 mile uphill walk in to the glacier. It's not technical but a little fitness would be preferable. Once on the glacier, we couldn't have been in better hands. Todd and Katie briefed us fully before undertaking any steps on the ice and throughout thereafter. We knew exactly what we were doing (and not doing) as a result, which made for a stress-free and very enjoyable trek. Their advice and guidance was invaluable, and allowed us to get up close to the many glacial features safely. Even Katie's bad jokes were forgivable in the wonderful setting of the Exit Glacier! Thank you Todd and Katie for your company...I hope you aren't offended if I say that it was the Glacier which left us in awe... but you guys were great too!
