Overview

The highlight of the show is the Samoan Fire-knife dance, known as the "Tooth of Death". In the original interpretation, this dance was performed with a dangerously sharp blade.

The story behind the dance is of a Samoan chief making a movie for Hollywood many years ago. He decided to include the flaming torch in his part to make the dance more spectacular.

The show also includes the energetic Samoan Slap Dance, a traditional display of male prowess. True to the name, the dancers slap their chests, arms and legs repeatedly throughout this segment. For Samoan men, this was an opportunity to demonstrate their bravery and courage.

Most surfaces are wheelchair accessible, since we do have ramps to the Bar, the Restrooms, and the Ohana Gift Shop, and outside surfaces of the luau have harder sand
Motorized wheelchairs are allowed in most areas, however, Germaine's Luau will not be responsible for any damages to the electric mechanism for the chair due to sand, as our luau is on a private beachfront property.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

We had reservations for a luau that was canceled due to safety reasons, yet we had to contact them in order to secure our refund. The refund was NOT automatic, meaning they were relying on us to not contact them so that they could keep our money. Complete money-grab. Will never return. Stay away.

The staff was friendly but the food was subpar, not much to pick from and no flavor and the show was not the best in Hawaii. It was ok. The fire dancers were good. That is the best I can say. If you are planning on doing a luau I would not pick this one again. The best part was the sunset on the beach.

Fun and exciting, great food and an awesome show. A good variety of food for all. All you can drink soda, coffee and water. Two free drinks for over 21, not the greatest, but comes with so no biggie. Be prepared for the long bus ride from Waikiki to Germains which will cost an additional $35 per person. The bus was clean and air conditioned, so no worries there.
