Giant Redwoods Tour Including a 4-Course Winery Lunch

Overview

The day begins at the magnificent Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve with a walk among trees that soar 300 feet in the sky. This is an unparalleled chance to experience trees that have been around for 1500 years. We purposefully choose NOT to go to the more known Muir Woods, which is overrun with crowds and prevents our guests from fully enjoying the majesty of the Redwoods. Instead, we go to Armstrong Woods, which has older and taller trees, and far less crowds.

We then move on to Kendall-Jackson winery and culinary garden where the farm-to-table culinary movement is in full bloom as we tour through the gardens that are the source of vegetables for California’s most prestigious restaurants.

Once we’ve seen the incredible offering of the culinary garden, Kendall Jackson’s award-winning chefs will prepare a four-course lunch paired with some of the winery's finest offerings. The menu changes with the seasons depending on the freshest offerings from the garden.

Anthony made this tour! He was entertaining and knowledgeable. Really loved his sharing. So much fun and amazing experience at Muir Woods and the Kendall Jackson estate.

My brother and I did this tour today, Thursday. Phil, our guide was outstanding! Clear communication two days in advance to plan our hotel pickup and address. Phil provided us with five star service the duration of our tour. The perfect balance of quiet time and information on sites and the Armstrong woods and the Kendall Jackson wine lunch. We LOVED the Armstrong woods! No crowds! It was gorgeous and peaceful. Simply amazing! Mercedes’ was the wine expert and server at Kendall Jackson and she was amazing! Clearly explained each wine and the incredible food that it was paired. This package tour is great because it is not rushed. Plenty of time at each experience. One hour and 15 minutes at Armstrong woods and a leisurely two hour lunch with wine pairing and time to tour the garden and vines at Kendall Jackson. We highly recommend this tour!!!

Going into the tour, we weren’t sure what all to expect. Everything was so much fun. The food and wine was of course delicious and the trees live up to the hype. Our tour guide, Anthony was as personable as he was informative. He had so many tips for taking pictures and had umbrellas at the ready for us in case we needed them. I appreciated all of his commentary on things we saw, giving historical context and advice on things we might want to check out during our stay. Would definitely sign up for another tour with him.
