I did the Lamar River Valley and the Bunsen Peak hikes with Josh as our guide for both of the hikes. I could not pick my favorite, because they were both amazing in their own way. During the Lamar River Valley hike the scenery was breathtaking and we got to observe bison and pronghorn (antelope) at their home. During the Bunsen Peak hike we got to see 360 degree views of Yellowstone. What a site! Josh was an awesome guide. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about what he does. He took us off the beaten path, prepared yummy lunches for us, and made sure we were having a good time. I loved the welcoming gesture of offering us cookies and delicious green tea upon meeting up for the tours. Ultimately, these two hikes allowed me to experience Yellowstone in a unique way that left me with very memorable impressions. I strongly recommended them for any nature lover that enjoys hiking and bonding with nature.

My husband and I were in the airport waiting for our connecting flight to Yellowstone when we booked our tour from my phone. Could not have been easier to do. We did the Lamar Valley hike with Josh, who we instantly liked so much. He's one of the nicest people I've ever met and very obviously an expert woodsman. Our group was great fun (there were 8 of us, not including Josh) and we asked a lot of questions - Josh really knows his stuff and answered everything! I have a cashew allergy and was so pleased that he made my lunch "special" and made sure my granola bar included with my lunch bag were not the type with cashews (the other folks did have cashews). Josh is very easy going and fun to be around. Easy to talk to, but he also knows somehow when to just let folks be quiet and enjoy the peacefulness of the hike. We saw a mountain goat up on the cliff. The highlight (for me) was when a huge bison came lumbering along on our trail unexpectedly (okay, it really was HIS trail! ha). If it had just been my husband and I alone on the hike I would have freaked out, but Josh knew what to do and had us all smoothly leave the trail far enough that the bison looked at us once, and then simply continued on his way without another glance at us. We had lunch by the river - what a glorious place. Both my husband and I felt our hike with Josh of Yellowstone Hiking Guides was one of our favorite things that we did in Yellowstone. I could not recommend it more!
