We booked the trip from the Uk before travelling to USA. It stated;First Class,Spread out with over-sized seats, big windows, bar service, and complimentary snacks in the morning and afternoon. So i paid nearly $600 for first class for 2 and hotel option. Got everything bar the big window!! We travelled with another couple so booked 4 seat by a table, on arrival were allocated seats in the Coconino coach i had seat 01B my wife 01A. Everything was fabulas bar the view as we did not have one!!! all we had was a divide between large windows only the person sat next to the window could see out. This spoiled the trip for us.

Superb day trip taken as part of a 3 night stay at the GC Railway Hotel. The whole trip was extremely well organised and efficiently run by attentive staff who genuinely cared. Although the carriages are high off the ground at the station, do not be concerned as they have wheelchair lifts at both stations. The carriage we chose for the trip – Coach Class – also had a wheelchair friendly toilet. The entertainment provided by the “wandering minstrels” was good. We did not try out the café car so cannot comment on that. When we reached GC Village we had paid for the Motorcoach Grand tour which involved a tour of the South Rim by coach stopping at several view points on the Hermits Peak trail and a buffet-style lunch at the Maswik Lodge and then a bit of time at the shop. Recommended as an add-on to the trip because you get to see more of the canyon than on foot or by using the shuttle bus which can be overcrowded at times.

My 14 year old daughter and my 13 year old son had a spectacular time going into Williams Town for breakfast before our 9:30am train ride to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Ince we ate our super delicious and filling breakfast we walked across the street from where my truck was parked for free. We walked into the ticket sales area and we picked up our will call tickets that I purchased a month in advance. We had the best coach seats and the best train conductor “Danielle” is the BEST TRAIN CONDUCTOR on the Grand Canyon Railway!!! She is funny and personable. The entire staff and great entertainers had my teenagers and I very entertained! We purchased great pictures from the train photographer...He is Awesome Too!!! What a great way to hit the South Rim of the Grand Canyon!!! We did the round trip...super fun, entertaining and the cafe car is to die for with all of the Grand Canyon Breweries beer your heart could desire! Relaxing and FUN!!!
