The day began with a humorous "Wild West Show" prior to boarding the train for a very scenic trip to the Grand Canyon. The train conductors and entertainers kept both the kids and adults occupied during the ride to and from the canyon. The "Train Robbery" on the return trip was a very humorous way to ask for and collect tips for the conductors and entertainers. If you don't want to be with a lot of children, upgrade to one of the fancier cars - it may be quieter. We choose the cheapest seats and had a lot of kids in our car and although it was fun to watch them interact with the conductors and entertainers, it got a bit old by the time we got back to Williams. Nevertheless, we will definitely take the train again anytime we are showing our guests the beautiful state of Arizona!

We loved the entire day we had on the GC Railway Train. The beginning started out with the cowboy shootout, then we boarded the train. We loved the "old time" passenger cars that we booked. Our car had an attendant that not only served a breakfast (on the way up) snacks, but also gave us really interesting info about the surrounding area. We enjoyed the singing cowboys that came by on both directions. Lastly, the best part for the kids (ok, and the adults) was the train robbery by horse riding bandits. Super fun live action that is interactive. I would highly recommend going to the South Rim on the train.

Rode the train to visit the Grand Canyon. If you are a train enthusiasts or just looking for an adventure this is for you. You buy your tickets and board the train in Williams Arizona. There are different levels of tickets from coach to luxury. I splurged and got the dome level. This got me a seat in the dome of one of the observation cars and an unobstructed view of the landscape as we went towards the Canyon. The trip was well organized with attentive staff. Entertainment included a singing cowboy and fake holdup just to help pass the time. The staff pointed out interesting thing along the way. Our seats got complimentary champagne on the return trip. The rolling stock, engines and track are beautifully restored and well maintained. From start to finish you were kept advised on what would be happening next and times to board and reboard. I signed up for a tour of the Canyon and was told where to meet the bus and when it would return me. Care was taken to keep me fully advised on time lines so I would not miss the return trip. I hate tours where you are just dumped off with idea what to do next. In short this was a good idea and I would recommend it to anyone.
