We booked a train ride, an afternoon bus tour, sunset tour & morning tour as part of our stay at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel. DID NOT disappoint! Our train ride hostesses were amazing, so friendly with the kids & outgoing with the adults. The entertainment on board was also fun & engaging. Upon arriving to the South Rim, we booked a bus tour as part of our trip and our tour guide Arba- is incredibly knowledgeable about the area, very friendly & informative. She offered to take pictures of families along the backdrop of the canyon, this tour included lunch & she allowed us to take our time and enjoy the rest stop. In the evening, Tom was our tour guide for the sunset tour- he was outstanding. Knowledgeable about the area, he was great with the kids, taking time to show them fossils and interacting with them about the canyon. He was hands- down such a pleasure to book with! Our morning tour was breathtaking, as the sun rises at the Grand Canyon- I recommend doing at least one of the tours to get to know the Grand Canyon and make some great memories along the way.

We did the first class tickets there and back on the Grand Canyon Railway. The seats were very spacious and comfortable. My kids, ages 8 and 13, were excited because they had never ridden on a train before. Our car hostess, Destiny, was great. It is a two hour ride each way without much scenery to look at. I had brought a pack of Uno cards which really helped the time pass. We booked the Grand Tour with included lunch and two viewing spots for the canyon. The buffet lunch at the Lodge was not too good. But it was quick. The first viewing area had very few people which was nice. The second area had more people, but still not overwhelming. The views were amazing!!! We had about 30-45 minutes at each spot. We had about 45 minutes after the tour ended to explore on our own. We went to the Hopi House and did some souvenir shopping. The kids liked the robbery on the way back. Overall it was a great experience!

Train from yesteryear, perfectly restored and comfortable.
