We had First Class tickets round trip. This was a great way to get the grandkids to the Grand Canyon and back without the hassle of the drive or parking and provided adequate time at the South Rim of the Canyon for familiarization. The "shootout" before the ride was fun as were the entertainment on the train and the great "train robbery" on the return leg. We had time at the Canyon to walk part of the rim and enjoy icecream and lunch. Seeing the accomodations on the train, we were glad we didn't get tickets in the Observation car. They really didn't significantly improve the view during the trip. I recommend it for grandparents with with any age grandkids.

We stayed at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel and traveled to the canyon via this adventurous train ride complete with entertainment, light eats, and amazing scenery not to mention it deposits you right in the middle of the park. Skip the drive and the hassles of parking and take the train instead!

The views were nice and very relaxing. They have on board staff that will sing and even cops and robbers that enter the train near the end. It is pricey for upper end tickets but something to do at least once for the experience!
