Half Day Grand Teton Wildlife Safari Tour

Overview
Explore the National Elk Refuge, home to thousands of wintering elk, hundreds of bison, bighorn sheep and an array of bird life before venturing into Grand Teton National Park. Jackson Hole’s wintering wildlife is abundant with opportunities to see bison, elk, deer, moose, fox, coyote, bald eagle, trumpeter swans, and if we’re lucky, wolves. If time allows we might also choose to stop at the Jackson Hole Visitor Center or the new Moose visitor center in Grand Teton National Park. The route varies seasonally based on group interest, road closures and wildlife migration.

I went out three days in a row, and saw moose, mule deer, eagles, bighorn sheep, bison, elk, eagles, and a porcupine. My guides Dave and Grant were very knowledgeable and knew just where to take us to see wildlife. They were patient with everyone and did not rush us along. Several of the days the roads were snow covered and the visibility was not good for driving at times, but I always felt safe in their hands. I would recommend this trip to both those with wildlife knowledge as well as those who have not spent a lot of time out in nature.

We had a wonderful experience seeing the wildlife and learning about the Grand Tetons. Our guide, Grant, was excellent. We saw Moose, Mountain Sheep, Coyote, Elk, Black Tail Weasel and Bison. A perfect way to spend a day away from the slopes.

We went with in a group of four with Jody as our guide. He was the best! He was funny and informative. We really enjoyed his perspective and knowledge of tracking critters and the area. Excellent recommendations. We started off in Grand Teton National Park where we saw bison, elk and moose. We also so snow bunting, which Jody said was a rare treat. We saw evidence of the local porcupines and the bears. Seeing the signs of the animals made me feel like I was a tracker. We saw Mule Deer in Kelly, and headed over to the National Elk Refuge. We saw Trumpeter Swans, goldeneye ducks, big horn sheep, and coyote peeking down on the sheep. I felt like I was in the show Planet Earth!
