During your time on Kauai, enjoy a three-hour guided kayak and snorkel tour along the picturesque Hanalei River and in Hanalei Bay, which is home to the beautiful Bay Reef Lagoon. Admire the dramatic Makana Peak (Bali Hai) and get up close to tropical reef fish. As you kayak along the river, you’ll be surrounded by lush trees and diverse wildlife. Learn about the flora and fauna of the surrounding area from your naturalist guide, and enjoy a snorkel in the turquoise waters of the lagoon.

My wife and I were kind of not sure about this tour as it is close to our resort but it did not disappoint. The best part of the tour was all the very interesting information that we Learned, and not to mention the turtle.

We had heard so much about Hanalei Bay that we decided to book the "Hanalei Bay Kayak and Snorkel Tour." Mike, our tour guide/naturalist, was extremely knowledgeable about the ecology, history, and environment of the Hanalei River and Bay. He really made the tour enjoyable! Throughout our tour, he answered all of our questions about the various changes that had taken place in the Hanalei area over the past two years. First, we spent about 45 minutes kayaking the Hanalei River. The river was very easy to navigate. However, there weren't many sights to see on the river. Kayaking in the bay to the snorkeling site was fun. Wish we had spent more time kayaking in the bay. As far as the snorkeling, the water was rather murky. Did see some colorful fish, but didn't see any sea turtles. Snorkeling is probably a lot better in the summer months. Lunch was provided, the ham sandwiches were tasty. After lunch, riding the waves to the return site was fun. Overall, the tour was enjoyable, and we got to spend some fun time in the Hanalei Bay area.

We do think a well informed guide who also keeps safety in mind compliments the beauty to be found, not only underwater but the striking panoramic scenery that surrounds the Hanalei area. After Na Pali coast Hanalei is considered one of the top visitor destination. You gave a fair description of the tour and sorry the snorkeling was not as good as it can be; surf and a muddy Hanalei River can at times, even during the summer, can at times conspire to obfuscate. As you learned when life gives you surf...and if you are a more intrepid paddler we can surf kayak. Glad you enjoyed the lunch as well. Thanks for taking time to share. A hui hou,
