We booked this excursion through Norwegian Cruise Line. I'm not sure if we paid $160.00 per person because of that, but it is NOT worth $320.00 a couple for a 1 hour kayak trip and a 90 minutes hike through a muddy forest area. Our guide, Elvis was fun and we enjoyed his stories. It is a very pretty area.

A trip filled with beauty, topped off with a picnic lunch at the falls. Our guide, Kohna ( Iā€™m not sure of the spelling) very informative about many subjects; things Hawaiian and their history, and the plants we saw on the trip.

If you are looking for a non strenuous adventure, this is the one for you. You start your morning in a kayak for two on a peaceful, beautiful river. There is lots to see along the way and you can paddle as fast or slow as you like. If you stay near your guide you will learn about the history, plants and animals along the way. Once you reach your destination by kayak, you will hike to a beautiful waterfall. The hike is not strenuous, but the footing is challenging due to roots and slippery clay. Wear good shoes and use a walking stick (bring one or there will be suitable natural sticks where you park the kayak) A tasty lunch is provided, and you will eat it at the pool below the falls. You can swim there and go under the falls if you like ( cold water). Expect a lot of people when you get to the falls, but overall people were courteous and did not leave any trash behind. After a relaxing lunch you will hike back to the kayak ( stopping to learn about the ancient civilizations that lived there) and paddle back to the landing. Our guide was Zach, and he was very knowledgeable and friendly, overall a worthwhile way to spend one of your precious Hawaiian days.
