During this tour we can visit either the northern manta site near the Kona airport, or venture further south to Keauhou depending on where the best manta sightings have been. Our expert captains and dedicated guides are pulling out all the stops to make sure you get the best viewing possible.

Prior swimming & snorkeling experience is required to book this activity. Guest's must be able to independently climb up a side boat ladder. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Contact tour operator for exceptions.

Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

It was an experience of a lifetime, the instructors were very helpful and informative about every aspect of the tour and also made it very easy to make sure your comfortable in the elements of the ocean especially at night! all the guys were super cool! thanks team! definitely do it again!!!

Myself and two friends took the Manta Ray night tour on our first evening on the Big Island. Zach & John were incredibly friendly and accommodating guides. We had a lovely 20 minute ride out, not too choppy, and John did a great job of warning folks of big dips and swells which is super helpful for those w a tendency towards sea sickness. I was a little nervous to get in the deep ocean with huge Manta Rays (logic be damned!) and what helped was how clear and concise they both kept all their instructions. Manta Rays can’t hurt you, but I still appreciated all the info ahead of time so I could prepare myself. It was absolutely one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Highly recommend these two gentlemen.

What a great adventure with my family! Captain John and Zach were friendly, professional and made sure we were all safe and comfortable at all times. The mantas were amazing. We got lucky and saw about 10-15 mantas rays which I know is not common. So glad we did not pass this up.
