Hoonah Whale Tours is a family owned whale watching company that operates out of Hoonah, AK. When taking this tour you will be on a private 6 passenger boat tour that goes out into Icy Strait. During the tour will you get the chance to see all sorts of Southeast Alaska wildlife, including bald eagles, sea lions, sea otters, sometimes brown bear and orcas and of course humpback whales! Our tours last between 3 and 3.5 hours and we guarantee you'll see whales or you money back. The boat is a 6 passenger catamaran, with a walk around deck, heated cabin, and a bathroom on board. We also provide snacks and beverages.

Hoonah Whale Tours

When out on our whale watching tour you will be in Icy Strait (body of water) You will get to see humpback whales (guaranteed!), sea lion, sea otter, and bald eagles. You even have the chance of seeing brown bear along the beaches, orcas and puffins flying by.

It was the BEST DAY EVER! Jordan was very nice, knowledgeable and did everything to ensure that we got to see orca, humpback, sea lions, sea otters, eagles and even a mamma bear with two cubs! His wife made us wonderful blueberry muffins and hot chocolate! Great day!

What a great tour, best part about this tour is they only take 6 people or less on the tour so you can get some great views and pictures without trying to fight a crowd of people to get them. Maraiya and Jordan where both very nice people to deal with. Maraiya was very helpful with information about the tour and Jordan made sure to find everything we could possibly see while out. We saw both Orca and Humpback Whales, sea otters and sea lions not to mention a small bear cub on shore dining on some fish. Jordan was very knowledgeable about the waters in the area and where to find the sights you want to catch. If your looking for your moneys worth, I would highly recomment Hoonan Whale Tours when in Icy Straight Point.

Captain Joardan did a great job showing us the local marine wildlife. We were lucky enough to see a breach right in front of us, although no one was filming at the time. We also saw orcas, seals, and otters. The boat was large, comfortable, and well-maintained. I highly recommend Hoonah Whale Tours when visiting Icy Point Straight.
