What To Expect
1
Kenai Fjords National Park
In Kenai Fjords National Park, over half of the landmass is covered by the enormous Harding Icefield, a thousand-foot block of ice that dates back to the last Ice Age. The Harding spills out in all directions in the form of glaciers. Some stretch northwest into rugged hills of the Kenai Peninsula. Others—five of them, to be exact—reach as far as the sea along the craggy coast of the Gulf of Alaska.
2
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge is comprised of 2,400 islands, headlands, rocks, islets, spires and reefs and is known for its abundance of seabirds.

Our group of four friends included two with limited mobility. Taking a 5 hour cruise could have been daunting but the staff at Kenai Fjords tours made it an amazing adventure. We were able to board first using a wheelchair and sit in an easily accessible, specially designated area. During the highlights of the cruise staff even roped off the area in front of our windows for an unobstructed view of the fabulous scenery. The tour itself was spectacular. We saw whales, seals, sea lions, otters, And Puffins! The glaciers were extraordinary and the mountains majestic. Commentary made everything better. The boat is very stable, very clean, and lunch was good. Remember if you want the vegetarian option to let them know ahead. Bathrooms were easy to reach and also very clean. Take this tour because the trip is wonderful. If you have mobility needs take this trip because it is wonderful and you can do it.

What a wonderful cruise with tons of otters, puffins, seals and sea lions--plus a humpback whale! The highlight, however, was getting up close to a glacier and watching multiple thunderous ice calvings.
