What To Expect
1
Kenai Fjords National Park
In Kenai Fjords National Park, over half of the landmass is covered by the enormous Harding Icefield, a thousand-foot block of ice that dates back to the last Ice Age. The Harding spills out in all directions in the form of glaciers. Some stretch northwest into rugged hills of the Kenai Peninsula. Others—five of them, to be exact—reach as far as the sea along the craggy coast of the Gulf of Alaska.
2
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge is comprised of 2,400 islands, headlands, rocks, islets, spires and reefs and is known for its abundance of seabirds.

Crew and captain were friendly and welcoming. Weather was cold windy- raining at times and cloud cover was low, so views were not great. Was glad boat was half full otherwise inside would have been miserably crowded. despite the weather the captain and crew made the outing lively and pleasant. Appreciated that the team shared a lot of history, and had strong knowledge of local flora and fauna.

This was a 6 hour cruise that included a lunch. There were many opportunities for breathtaking views of scenery and wildlife. We saw whales, puffins, sea lions, and otters. The Aaliyak Glacier in particular was amazing. The only criticism I have of this excursion is they should warn people who are prone to sea sickness to take medicine or perhaps not go on the cruise. There were several people on the ship who were very ill, as was one of my family members. Since it is a 6 hour cruise there isn't a lot you can do once you get sick. If there was a warning you could get a patch or take medicine before the cruise. The water was much rougher than we expected. Other than that the cruise was breathtaking.

Kenai Fjords Tours is top notch. From picking up us at the cruise port and taking us to their office, holding our luggage all day into the evening (they close at 9pm), to checking us into our tour, to the service provided on the boat and after the tour. You could not find a better group of people. This tour is a must of you find yourself in Seward and you can't go wrong with Kenai Fjords Tours.
