What To Expect
1
Kenai Fjords National Park
In Kenai Fjords National Park, over half of the landmass is covered by the enormous Harding Icefield, a thousand-foot block of ice that dates back to the last Ice Age. The Harding spills out in all directions in the form of glaciers. Some stretch northwest into rugged hills of the Kenai Peninsula. Others—five of them, to be exact—reach as far as the sea along the craggy coast of the Gulf of Alaska.
2
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge is comprised of 2,400 islands, headlands, rocks, islets, spires and reefs and is known for its abundance of seabirds.

We took the 6 hour cruise and quite enjoyed it. We saw lots of marine life, glaciers and had a lovely lunch on board. We saw humpbacks and orcas. However as we are Canadian and living on the West Coast we are very aware of preserving the living environment of whales in the wild. We did feel that the boat encroached on their comfort zone and at times bordered on harassment. For the most part we enjoyed it thoroughly

Saw glaciers calving. Humpback whale, Dall porpoises, puffins, bald eagles, sea otters, sea lions. The fjords were so beautiful - what a wonderful place to visit.

Unfortunately it was very smokey this week due to the forest fires 70 miles away but this did not dampen the excellent experience we had. We saw a whale, seals, sea otters, eagles and lots of other birds. Holgate Glacier was amazing. One of group got very seasick and the staff were wonderful with her. Captain Sherry gave an excellent commentary and the whole experience was first class. I knew the chicken wrap would be a disappointment ( mine only had 3 small cubes of chicken), but we didn't go for the food. Would highly recommend this tour.
