Overview

Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

The place was like a sauna, no air ventilation and no A/C with over hundreds of people under a tent at 90 degree weather. The food was selection wasn’t what I had previously experienced at other Luau’s. There were very few options, more starch then anything else. The dessert selection was better for those who have a sweet tooth. I would definitely choose a different one next time.

The show was great. Non traditional! Loved it. The drinks were horrible. Very syrupy. And they had two beers on tap. One was Bud Light. 🤮. Food was ok. The fish was great. The desserts had no flavor. I left very hungry.

It is so hot inside a large tent structure you can’t enjoy the show. Would not come again. It is 95 degrees at our table with no breeze. Pick one that is outside.
