Overview

Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

We had an enjoyable time at the luau. The food was good and plentiful. The tropical drinks were tasty, but pretty weak. They assign seats and ours were at a table far from the stage. After dinner we moved over to the bench around their big tree to get a better view of the show. The show was very well done. Great dancing culminating with four fire dancers that were spectacular.

We were soo glad that we decided to do this. The show was amazing- way more than expected. Drinks were included along with the buffet dinner and leis on arrival. Overall it was a great experience.

The 45 minutes main show is all you are paying for, rest is something you have to endure to get there. The show was great with good light work and storyline. The actors performed well and at moments it all came together to be magical. The food, drinks and rest was sub-par thus bringing down the evening experience to a point where I will not recommend it.
