Overview

Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

We signed up for full transportion, train, dinner and show. Van was late, so we arived 4 minutes before last train ride. Train was somewhat interesting, but arived to get a seat in the back where could not see stage well. Food was okay, but staff were rushed and took bread and silverware before we were finished. I never saw vendors, pictures, so missed all of that. Other luau have been more intimate, so used to be able to see show more closely and in a relaxed setting

We visited this luau as part of our Hawaiian island hopper cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line. It was our first time to Kauai. This was my favorite island of all of the State's islands, by far. The luau gives the history of the island's discovery. The dancers are magnificent and the food made me wish I had a larger stomach. Outstanding. If you have not seen a luau, and you happen to be visiting Kauai, then this is a good one to see. This takes place on the property of a long lost plantation, that now exists producing rum (yum, yum). There is a small tasting room where you can get a nice sampling of the rums produced by the plantation.

A highlife of our trip to Hawaii!! It is hard to put into words the show!! The whole Luau is a story of early family coming to Hawaii. The wardrobe of all the cast were beautiful, the ladies were gorgeous. It was a totally amazing show! The dinner was a full Hawaiian Luau, with a pig roasted under ground with all the trimmings. A must see, if you are on the Island of Kauai!! We enjoyed our week on Kauai, it is beautiful!!
