Luau Kalamaku with Buffet Dinner & Show

Overview
Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

Our friends warned us about mediocre food and an OK show, but they did not attend the Luau Kalamaku! What a night! We came with 7 adults and 1 toddler spanning all ages. Everyone in our group: singles, married without kids, parents and retirees were enchanted! The service was excellent, food delicious and varied, and the live music and live theatre were fabulous! We took the train ride, shopped the craft fair, tasted complimentary rum, witnessed the unearthing of the IMU Kalua pig and even came home with a terrific family photo! A must do in Kauai!

I wish it was something on the beach, but maybe those are only in the movies. It was a huge place with tons of people and little booths to shop. Food and drinks were tasty.

We have been to two Luau’s on Kauai. Both were unforgettable for their own reasons. This show is unique in that it tells a story, making the dancing and singing come alive with meaning. They offer both modern and traditional Hawaiian food, giving you opportunity to try new things but still have something for picky teens to eat. Loved it. Thanks for the great experience.
