Manatees/Sunset/Bioluminescence Tour

Overview
Experience everything the wildlife refuge has to offer with three distinct experiences packed into one three-hour tour! Launch your kayak in the daylight and surround yourself with Florida’s most-loved endangered species, West Indian Manatees! Sit back while the gentle giants roll, sniff, and nuzzle all around you. Dolphins are also active this time of day as they wrangle their dinner in the adjacent cove.

Next, head out to Bird Island, a federally protected rookery, to watch hundreds of birds soar in overhead. Ibis, herons, egrets, pelicans, cormorants, and roseate spoonbills and more all glide in their flocks to nest for the night. Be lulled into serenity by the gently rocking kayak as the sun descends for the night in the pinks, oranges, and reds of sunset.

Finally, the tour culminates in the season’s bioluminescent experience, whether it be summer bioluminescence, winter comb jelly bioluminescence, or a star-studded moonlit sky.

What more can I say? This tour will NEVER get old! Bob was funny and knowledgeable about everything from the manatees and birds all the way to the stars and planets. If you don’t experience the mondo combo tour your missing out. Doesn’t matter the time of year you went. We went in September and in June. Both amazing!

It was an awesome time. Bob the tour guide was awesome. He had the best dad jokes around. He was also very knowledgeable about the history of the island as well as the local wild life and even the stars and constellations that were out. I will warn you though the mosquitoes are terrible! Bug spray didn't seem to hold them off either. I would suggest some type on mosquito net hat as well as loose fitting long sleeves and pants. It was awesome to see the manatees and the dolphins and the bioluminescent water was magical. My girlfriend and I had an awesome time! Thanks for the awesome trip!

We had an amazing time. We do the bioluminescent tours every year but this was our first Mondo tour. We had so much fun and our tour guides were so knowledgeable and friendly. A super sweet sea cow approached us and we got to give her all the belly rubs she wanted. Definitely doing the mondo tour again!
