Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

Hunter and Jeff were amazing tour guides for this intimate manta ray experience! We took the early boat at 5:40 pm and saw a beautiful sunset to start our night. Once we were in the water we were seeing 5 plus manta rays at one time!! Flipping consistently in front of us left us in awe. A once in a lifetime experience!!!

Majestic. Absolutely majestic. One of our favorite experiences ever. Hunter and Jeff were great; Hunter was particularly patient with a couple of guests who were struggling with the instructions (keep your feet up, friends). We were fortunate enough to see 8 or so manta rays, including Big Bertha. If you tend to get cold at all, opt for a wetsuit. We got a little chilly toward the end even with the wetsuits on.

THIS WAS SO COOL!!! I thought it was the perfect length of time. We saw so many mantas. They swam right up to us and flipped. The plankton/little fish were nibbling on my fingers a bit, which was also cool. Hunter, our guide, and Jeff, our captain, were both really friendly and full of good information about the mantas and the tour. I learned a lot. I'm prone to motion sickness so I took a little bo-nine like they recommended. Also, since we're not moving around a lot while watching the mantas, I was happy about my shorty wetsuit. We went on the latest ride out. Would definitely recommend.
