Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

Excellent experience. Professional staff and felt the team had the tours best interest in hand. Would highly recommend. Only thing I would change is viability of check in and van decal stating Manta Magic. Would love to experience again. Thank you

Thank you for the feedback, and we appreciate you calling out the fact that our team is there to make sure you have the best tour possible. We are waiting on a new decal for our new van, and it should be here in the next few days. Mahalo!

My new wife and I had an unforgettable experience on the Manta Magic tour. We spent nearly an hour floating above a frolicking group of giant mantas. I was bumped several times—but I didn’t touch! lap dance rules!—which made the trip quite special. There’s nothing like being grazed by an enormous leather bag with a feeder filter and a brain. (If anyone in your party needs a cogent argument against Intelligent Design, interacting with mantas might do the trick.) We loved this particular company, too—the tour was intimate, the staff was down to earth, and everyone’s concern for the mantas was palpable. Finding the tour was easy and convenient. Support tours that support the mantas and get yourself a Manta Magic lap dance!

Excellent experience and it was one of the highlights of our trip to the Big Island. The water can get cold so wear a wetsuit!

Great feedback, thank you. We have plenty of wetsuits available in all sizes, and all guests are welcome to wear a wetsuit. We always recommend that people who run cold or get cold easily, wear a wetsuit. While the water is about 80 degrees this time of year, the last few minutes can get chilly since we're not exerting a lot of energy to warm up our bodies. Mahalo!
