Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

Excellent trip from an excellent company. It was important to us to use a company that was working to preserve the ocean and sealife. Documenting and tracking without having to tag the manta Ray's is an optimal practice. This trip is one that will live in our memories for a lifetime!

Shout-out to our crew was Caleb & Ali'i - thanks for the memories. We did the Dolphin Dreaming trip early in the week then decided to book the Night Manta Ray Snorkel, without even asking, we were offered a discount on our 2nd booking with Hawaii Oceanic. Who does that? So great. We loved the music play list since we were able to pick songs we wanted to hear. We went on the 4:30 trip which gives you time to snorkel first. Glad we did since the manta's decided to swing by while it was still light out. Once the sunset, our little group (10) hung on our surf board and watched the plankton, blue fish and mantas swim by. Cool experience. This business has a no touch policy and will pull you from the water if you do. We love how much they respect the animals. At the end of the night we saw a plastic bottle float by, we tried to grab it but after a few failed attempts Caleb jumped in to pick-up someone else's trash. The ocean thanks you.

What a wonderful time our family of 7 had experiencing a nighttime manta ray trip The crew was informed and fun to be with and the smaller boat provides a much more intimate experience than several of the larger boats that gravitate to the LED “campfire” that draws the plankton which in turn draws in the Mantas We experienced at least 10-12 mantas that ranged from 8 to 12’ span Even though the crew noted the mantas feeding process that would occur just below us; it was still an unbelievable experience (which may have been terrifying if we had not been educated by the crew prior to entering the night water) Thank you Hawaii Oceanic for a great and life event that our entire family will remember forever
