Overview

Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

100% would recommend them, their operation is just the right size. The group is the perfect size to where everyone gets up close and personal with the manta ray. They were knowledgeable and professional, they knew exactly where to go and what to do to find manta rays, we had up to 4 swimming under our board at one point. They even offered us free photos of our experience. It was great!

There are lots of different companies to choose from for doing a manta ray experience. After doing some research and checking reviews we decided on this company because it is a designated GREEN company; we like the idea of working with a company that cares about keeping the animals and environment safe. So glad we chose OCEANIC HAWAII! Well organized adventure with knowledgeable and energetic crew! Wet suits and snorkel equipment available--we brought our own. Do bring a towel but not other "extra stuff." We felt very safe during our entire adventure. While seeing the mantas are never a guarantee our crew did it's best to make sure we had the best experience possible. We were so very fortunate to get up close and personal with 8 mantas!! Free photos taken by our snorkel guide was a terrific bonus with this adventure! We would definitely do this again with this company!
