Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview

Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

this was so amazing such gentle creatures. loved it. the only down side was there a large group, most didn't speak English and a few didn't know how to swim and just jumped in. people dumbness never cease to amaze me. so needless to say, some of them got motion sick holding the buoy and started vomiting. the guides were wonderful in helping them. wish they weren't there so the rest of us could have enjoyed it even more. a must do on your bucket list.

I took the opportunity to take the night time Manta Ray snorkel and highly recommend it for all. It was a great way to experience amazing gentle giants. The team of Dusty & Chad were great talking through what you would likely experience and how to best enjoy your time. They have a great respect for the animals and the environment. A great trip all around.

This was certainly one of the highlights of our trip to the Big Island. Chad and Dusty were friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Being a smaller boat it had the advantage of only 10 guests on board, which was fabulous. The crew answered all our questions and provided great information about these incredible creatures. The manta rays put on an awesome show and came within inches of us. We had complimentary photo’s sent to us within a few days of the trip. I would thoroughly recommend both the experience and the company. Thanks for a wonderful evening!
