Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

My husband and I had the most magical experience with Hawaii Oceanic. We had a choppy (but fun) boat ride out to the north side of the Kailua area and saw a whopping six mantas that night! Dusty and Chad were great- very easy to talk to, supportive and encouraging of those on our boat who were nervous about the experience, and quick to aid a fellow traveler who accidentally inhaled some water (first time snorkeler). I would advise other travelers to be sure they have the prescriptive goggles on board (mine got left behind by accident, but they had a pair that worked okay for me thankfully). Otherwise, it was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend this company to other travelers!

My wife and I did some amazing things on our Hawaii holiday, but this one topped the list. What an I N C R E D I B L E experience. Dusty and Chad as our host/guides were the Laurel and Hardy of aquatic adventures. I think those boys have taken customer service to a new level. It is impossible to describe the majesty of these magnificent Manta rays as they swim and flip under you, feeding on plankton and coming close enough to actually brush against you. Simply awe inspiring. As we sat on the boat on the return trip, we asked each other if that was real. Anyone thinking of adding this to their list, spare no expense. As you can see from other reviewers, you will be stunned. Thanks boys. We had a blast.

A great trip out that won't even be forgotten! Dusty and Chad were our crew. Super friendly and being a smaller charter we got to chat and get to know others on board rather than just fit in. Was one of the better nights with probably 7 mantas right under us and even upside down right at our face. I had to move not to touch them they were so close! Wasn't sure if the board and lights were the best size amd colour but there is a lot of light from all the other boards. Overall an amazing experience and I would recommend these guys for their friendliness and accommodating attitude.
