Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview

Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

SPECTACULAR....Highlight of our trip to Hawaii.....Guides were excellent....going out early before the masses was a great benefit as we were able to snorkel on our own for a period before dark....Mantas were AMAZING.....loved it so much we are taking scuba lessons to go back again and see form a different perspective...A MUST SEE EXPERIENCE

If you are only going to do one big activity while on the Big Island, do the Night Snorkel with the Manta Rays, and Hawaii Oceanic is a great company to do it with. Dylan and Captain Dusty were awesome. You get out there before anyone else, and the smaller size of the group made for a more manageable group size which means you get in the water faster. You get to do some daytime snorkeling before prepping for the big show. And what a show! These incredible creatures get to within an inch or two of your face and do an elaborate dance in front of you to get to the plankton. I cannot possible recommend this activity more. Thank You again, captain Dusty and Dylan!! You guys rock!

Snorkeling with the Manta Rays was beyond our expectations. A friend already warned us that this would be the highlight of our Hawaii trip and that after this nothing would even come close to this experience. Be ready to see spectacular views of Manta Rays close up! And though it's the end of the whale season, we even saw a humpback whale and her baby breaching! A very magical and awesome experience! Highly recommend. Wonderful crew - Dusty and Alishia were very attentive and informative and made our experience top-notch! Small tour group means a more personalized experience and this tour group is ecologically friendly! Stop looking! Book it. You won't regret it!
