Manta Magic - Night Manta Ray Snorkel At Manta Village, Kona, Hawaii

Overview

Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

This trip was amazing! Seriously, a must do! Chad and Hunter made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Hunter is very knowledgeable about the rays, and knows them by name. He is genuinely excited about his job and wants everyone to have a great time. They supply wetsuit jackets and ankle floats to increase your comfort. I was not sure I wanted to go, but am so so glad I did.

Incredible experience! Hunter and the Captain had incredible energy, super passionate, super excited, very educational, made us feel very safe going late at night at 11:20pm. Definitely recommend! These guys really love their job, it was late, dark and raining, last session but Hunter and the Captain were so enthusiastic to take us out to teach and show us the mantas! We saw two beautiful 2yr old manta belly rubbed us real close! Cheers Hunter for the highlight of our trip!

Really a spectacular experience. If you are thinking about doing it I really recommend it. The mantas can be within inches of you and are up to 16 feet wide. We went with several kids 11-17 and they got over being teens for a sec and were blown away. Great staff and helpful
