I really enjoyed this tour, learning about the history of Manteo and also the Outer Banks. Chief is passionate about giving these tours. While itā€™s called a ā€œwalkingā€ tour, itā€™s called that because itā€™s on foot not by vehicle. No, you donā€™t walk a lot. We were a small group and we were given more time than the two hours, just taking in all the history of this island of many ā€œfirstsā€. Thank you Chief, for sharing your knowledge, and stories, in addition to the extra time you gave us.

Certainly! You are welcome for the extra time. Guiding people through our rich and unique history is both my passion and pleasure. I am so glad that our smaller group was able to take a deep dive into our history and enjoy some real connection with others in the group. It is always most gratifying when folks from all over the globe connect in such a great way. For America, It all starts here! Thanks for visiting the Land of Beginnings. Please come again and never forget that you are now a part of our living legacy.

Your group was a real treat for me as well! It is always an honor and privilege for me to host groups who share my passion for history. With the myriad of activities and adventures to do when visiting the Outer Banks, we try to offer an experience which is wholly unique, educational, relevant and exciting for our many guests who visit here. As the original candlelight walking tour in Manteo since 2004, the overwhelming excitement over our tour continues even today. You are the reason our experience is such fun. Keeping our history alive and relevant to our guests is what truly sets us apart. You will always be part of the living history here and we thank you for being a part of our legacy in Manteo.
