He shares his relationship with the celebrities and many space heroes who made Manteo's history so unique. This tour has been featured on PBS show "NC Weekend". The original Manteo Walking Tour is back! Join Manteo's retired Police Chief for an evening sroll through the Historic Waterfront of Old Manteo. He shares his relationship with several celebrities and many space heroes who have made Manteo such a unique and special place to visit. It was lovely to have a someone with such a personal connection to Manteo. His passion and knowledge are all you need to scratch into the amazing history of this area. I love history and I would pay good money to know everything that he knows! The tour was stroller accessible (even though the baby talked over him the whole time… sorry friends), and my 9 year old didn’t have any trouble keeping up with the pace or conversation. He is charismatic and welcoming and exudes every bit of warmth that the outer banks has to offer. Thank you again for showing us the ropes!!!!

What an enjoyable evening with someone who makes you want to readily change your zip code! The chief certainly is another lighthouse for this town. Learned that I have been mispronouncing the city’s name wrong all my life. Manteo… Man-eo. It’s a must do even for locals.
